Name: James Davey
Age: 17
Location: Exeter, Devon
Job: At college
Bike: Scott Ransom

How long have you been riding?
Most of my life…but properly about 2.5 years.

How often do you ride?
Most days.

What bike are you currently riding and talk us through your set up?
A Scott Ransom which has 160mm travel and is such a sweet do-anything bike so I ride this most of the time now. I currently have a simple drivetrain setup with a 34 tooth Renthal single ring, e13 chain device and Saint cranks with a 9-speed 11-34 cassette. The forks are Fox 36 and the rear shock is a Scott Equalizer. Wheels are Mavic rims with Hope Pro II hubs with a Maxxis High Roller tyre on the front and a Specialized Ground Control on the back. A KS dropper post with Nukeproof saddle and Renthal bars and grips.

What types of riding do you normally do?
Most types of riding - Downhill, Enduro, Cross Country and even started a bit of Cyclocross racing for winter fitness.

What was the last new bit of gear on your bike?
The Renthal bars and grips and a Garmin which really helps with training.

What are your local trails?
Haldon, Manaton, Woodbury, Exmoor and Gawton.

What's your favourite part on the bike?
The KS dropper post - make a massive difference for Enduro type riding.

Next upgrade planned for the bike?
Thinking about maybe fitting an Angle Set to slacken the head angle a bit more as it can get a bit sketchy at high speed on fast downhill sections.

What other bikes do you own?
A Trek Session for downhill and a super light Kona Kula for XC and Cyclocross.
